Like most people, you probably think of yourself as rational, using logic, reason, and intuition to make the decisions that guide your life.  

 

But the truth is, humans are driven primarily by our emotions.

 

Research shows that up to 90% of our decisions are unconscious, motivated by how we anticipate something will make us feel.

We deny this, of course. It contradicts our self-image. It suggests we lack agency.

 

So when our expectations conflict with reality, we rationalize, blaming circumstances or other people.

 

We refuse to see it's our unresolved emotions that are the true source of our problems...

Until we understand and gain mastery over our emotions, we will forever be caught in their loop, detached from reality, doomed to repeat the cycle of frustration and failure. 

I LEARNED THIS THE HARD WAY...

At thirty-five, I was an actor at the peak of my success. I had my own TV series, two films coming out, and a movie-star girlfriend. On the surface, my life was perfect. But underneath there was a lingering feeling of dissatisfaction and loneliness. Why?

I spent the next fifteen years getting to the bottom of that question through my training in somatic psychotherapy, breathwork, meditation, and shamanism.  

 

What I learned is this: unresolved emotions distort our thinking and create disharmony in our relationships. And many (if not all) of our actions and decisions are unconscious attempts to resolve our emotional pain. 

I realized, for instance, that my desire to succeed in Hollywood was primarily driven by an unfulfilled childhood need to be seen and loved.

 

I thought success would reconcile my pain. It didn't.

 

Only later did I understand I could never make us for what was lost. All had to accept and grieve what I desperately wanted but did not receive as a child.

HOW IT WORKS

We'll meet on Zoom for nine consecutive Sundays starting ... 

 

In each meeting, you'll learn the principles of the art and science of mastering your emotions. 

 

In between, there will be homework, action steps, and recommended reading.  

 

 

This course is part education, part challenge. I want you to take the learn AND take action.  

 

And each day, you'll receive a message from me with additional insights, support, and encouragement. 

 

We'll all stay connected on a text-group created just for this challenge. That's where we'll check-in every day and keep each other inspired and accountable.

 

My hope is by the end of our six weeks together you'll not only feel stronger, more empowered, connected, and alive; but you'll have an updated operating system, new tools and skills that will set you on a course for meaningful and lasting change!

THE PROGRAM

Module 1 - Know Thyself

 

Time to get brutally honestly. No more hiding or pretending. We’ll take a full inventory of these seven areas of your life.

 

  1. Health

  3. Work/Career 

  4. Finances

  5. Habits

  6. Relationships

  7. Purpose and Meaning

 

 

Week 2 - Habit Development

 

We are what we habitual do. In this module I’ll teach you the most effective strategies to break old habits and establish new.

 

Week 3 - Belief Systems

 

We all have them. Unconscious programs that control our attitudes, behavior, and results. We’ll identify them and reveal their source.

 

Week 4 - Emotional Blocks

 

Our limiting beliefs are tied to unresolved emotions. In this module, we’ll uncover the unconscious emotional material that keeps you feeling stuck.

Week 5 - Confronting The Lower Self

 

The Lower Self is our unconscious no to life, a primal protection against fear and pain. Until we confront and take ownership of our shadow, it will forever sabotage our growth and expansion.

 

 

Week 6 - Self-Responsibility

 

Blame is a prison. It keeps us forever helpless, at the mercy of forces we cannot control. Until we take full responsibility for our lives, we can never be free.

 

 

Week 7 - Reality Creation

 

Manifestation is easy when you know the rules of the game. I’ll teach you the art and science of actualizing the life of your dreams.

 

 

Week 8 - Higher Self and Life Purpose

 

You are here for a reason. Your purpose is divine. In this module, I’ll help you connect to your deepest gifts and life task.

 

 

Week 9 -Committing To Your Practice

 

Success requires a full commitment. This week is about integrating your learning into a daily practice.

FAQ

What will the challenges be? 

You'll decide for yourself. At our weekly meeting, I'll provide the focus and framework, and make suggestions and give examples, but you will ultimately choose your challenge. The group and I will then hold you accountable. You'll be encouraged to choose a challenge that stretches you, but is also realistic. If you're uncertain or confused, I will help guide you during our meeting.

How much time will this take each week?

Our weekly meetings will last approximately 90 minutes. But the time you spend each day will depend on the challenge you choose for yourself. For some, it may be a ten-minute meditation. For others, it might be two hours of daily writing. 

What time is the Zoom call on Sundays?

3:00 pm CT.

What if I can't make a Zoom meeting?

No problem. The meeting will be recorded and sent to you. You can then choose your challenge for the week and announce it via our text group. 

I don't know how much I should pay.

Whatever exchange feels right for you. Consider an amount that will strongly incentivize you to show up every day and do the work. It should not cause you financial strain, but it should be enough that squandering it by not fully showing up for the challenge would cause you to feel regret. (The desire to avoid negative feelings is a powerful motivator.)

Is there a refund policy?

If you are unsatisfied with the program in any way, I will refund your money in full.

David Sutcliffe is a Somatic Psychotherapist; a Certified Core Energetics Practitioner with over 15 years of experience. He has a private practice out of Austin, Texas, and holds workshops across the United States and Canada. He is also a trained hypnotherapist, a mindset expert, and has extensive experience with meditation, yoga, shamanism, physical fitness, nutrition, and wellness.
